Staffordshire Bull Terriers are easy to groom. Daily brushing with a firm bristle brush and bathing if necessary is about all what is required in terms of coat care. Regular veterinary check-ups are essential.
If the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is provided with sufficient exercise, it can do well in an apartment. A small yard is preferable.
Staffordshire Bull Terriers - Rescue Dogs
Many people consider these dogs potentially dangerous. Staffordshire Bull Terriers may be targeted for banning in certain areas. They are known to be aggressive toward other dogs. They have a strong instinct to chase and might have protective instinct toward strangers. They have a strong temperament and can be manipulative.
There are rescue Staffords who have proven not to have these negative characteristics. Much depends on the owner's willingness to train the dog. Rescue groups and organizations are committed to the successful rehabilitation and replacement of abandoned Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Rescue dogs are evaluated for their companion qualities and placed in responsible adoptive homes. Rescues urge Staffordshire Bull Terriers to be spayed and neutered.
